Run for the Son 2011

For those of you who may not know, Run for the Son is the Christian Motorcyclists Association's one and only fundraiser and is held annually to raise money for missions both domestically and abroad. 100% of the funds that are raised go toward furthering the gospel in the states (40%), Open Doors Ministry (20%), Missionary Ventures (20%), and the Jesus Film Project (20%). This event takes place worldwide on the first Saturday of May and consists of a 100 mile ride, usually but not always, followed by a meal and door prizes. Each local CMA chapter hosts a Run for the Son ride. The national goal this year is 5 million dollars. We will find out at the CMA National Rally whether or not we met this! We are trusting that the Lord will provide even through the difficult economy! There is documentation that for every dollar raised, one soul is saved for the Kingdom! What a fantastic return on your investment!
The rain held off for most of the ride, except for a few sprinkles, but we're used to that. There were between 50 and 60 people this year, which is pretty normal for the past few years. Ultimately, we would like to have well over 100 as we have had in the past so we can not only raise funds for missions, but use this venue to share the love of Jesus with bikers in our area. All in all, it was a great time of prayer, fellowship, and fundraising. The food was great too!!
